As we wrap up another remarkable year and enter the season of joy and giving, I reflect on the incredible journey we have shared as a school family, and enthusiastically look ahead to the new year.
Earlier this fall, BEST Skills Academy was honored to receive the Upstate Diversity Leadership award as an Outstanding Nonprofit by the Greenville Chamber of Commerce and the Furman University Riley Institute. We were recognized by the DEI Summit alongside many other incredible organizations and individuals.
We also recently started a new campaign to support an Arts and Music program at our school. Our goal is to add four hours a week of Arts and Music to our students’ curriculum.
Looking ahead to January, we will have open enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year. Last year, we doubled our enrollment, and we expect to double it again next year. We also anticipate hiring additional passionate and qualified staff to help accommodate the increase.
We need your continued support to help maintain our operations and special projects. We would love help from volunteers to chaperone field trips and tutor our middle and high school students. We also seek speakers who can share career topics and other new ideas with us.
I would like to express my gratitude to our students, parents, staff, volunteers, and supporters for your unwavering support and dedication. It is your continued efforts and support that keep our school thriving and growing.
The holiday season is a time for celebration, reflection, and gratitude. It’s a time when we come together to appreciate the warmth of our community and the shared values that unite us. Here at BEST Skills Academy, we believe that we should focus on the connections essential to us and the memories we create together during the holiday seasons.
I wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season filled with happiness, peace, and cherished moments.
Warmest holiday wishes,
Marquis
