BEST 6th & 7th grade math

Foundations of Algebra
This course develops strong mathematical fundamentals to prepare students for success in Algebra I and higher level math. The curriculum emphasizes conceptual understanding, problem solving skills, and real-world application.

Earth and Space Science

This course introduces students to various concepts, including the scientific method, forces, and gravity. It also covers the stars, the Earth, its moon, and the structure of the solar system.

BEST 6th - 8th grade social studies

Government and Civics

 

Students explore the purpose, structure, and functions of local, state, and federal government. The course introduces major laws, political systems, and the foundational principles that shape the United States.

Learners also develop an understanding of personal civic responsibility including the importance of voting, community involvement, and contributing positively to their families, neighborhoods, and country.

English 6th

English 6 is organized into two core modules: Storytelling and Heroes. Students are introduced to foundational reading and writing concepts, along with the essential skills they need to succeed throughout the course. Through engaging texts, they learn to identify themes, analyze characters, and communicate ideas clearly.

 

English 7th

Students deepen their critical thinking skills by analyzing written, spoken, and multimedia content. They learn to evaluate sources, interpret information, and craft organized, well-structured essays in multiple formats, including narrative, persuasive, and expository writing. Emphasis is placed on clarity, coherence, and effective communication.

 

English 8th

In English 8, students read and analyze a wide range of literary and informational texts, including novels, short stories, nonfiction works, and one act plays. Group readings and discussions help students build collaboration skills and develop a richer understanding of literature and language.
