On Oct. 31, 2023, BEST Skills Academy attended the Upstate Diversity Leadership Awards event to accept the Outstanding Nonprofit Organization recognition from the Greenville Chamber of Commerce and the Riley Institute at Furman.
Now in its 19th year, the Upstate Diversity Leadership Awards program honors outstanding individuals and organizations throughout the Upstate community for achievement in promoting diversity and inclusion.
“We feel called to do the work we’re doing in our community, which is to provide high quality, affordable private middle school education, as well as a high school learning center, to students who need it most,” said Robert McKenzie, Mentoring Director of BEST Skills Academy. “We are grateful to everyone who continues to support our mission.”
BEST Skills Academy was joined at the event by Community Partner Norma Jean Suarez from Unity Health on Main, who accepted the Calder D. Ehrmann Outstanding Individual award.
